U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) Recognition
The DOE VPP promotes safety and health excellence through cooperative efforts among labor, management and government at DOE contractor sites. More than 15 Fluor projects have received recognition under this program.
VPP Star of Excellence
DOE recognized six Fluor Hanford projects in Richland, Washington, with the Star of Excellence Award for achieving injury rates at least 75% better than the industrial average. In 2017, Savannah River Nuclear Solutions received its 16th DOE Star of Excellence.
VPP Legacy of Stars
The Fluor Hanford Volpentest HAMMER Training & Education Center received DOE's highest VPP recognition – the Legacy of Stars Award, which is given to sites that have achieved the Star of Excellence rating for three consecutive years.
VPP Superior Star Award
DOE recognized the Fluor Hanford Safeguards & Security Project with the Superior Star Award for achieving injury rates of at least 50% better than the industry average.
DOE Safest Laboratory Recognition
Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) in Aiken, South Carolina, placed as the safety leader in the DOE network of 15 national laboratories.
